What inspired you to go to law school?

Public service has always been important to me. Having experience in local government administration and civic leadership, I pride myself on giving back to our Long Island community and improving the lives of those around me. It was this foundation that inspired me to attend law school with the long-term goal of continued service to our local communities. 

What area of the law interests you and why?

I’m primarily interested in two areas of the law: the privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity space and the municipal, land use, and zoning space.

Privacy law and its intersection with technology has always been an interest of mine. I hope to have the opportunity to work with municipalities, businesses, and non-profit entities of all sizes to ensure privacy compliance to balance fundamental privacy rights with new and emerging technologies.

I also enjoy working with municipal law and land use issues, which would allow me to draw on my experience in local government administration with one of New York’s largest Townships. Working with municipalities, local civic groups, and developers, we can ensure that Long Island continues to maintain its suburban quality of life while encouraging smart redevelopment. 

What extracurriculars are you involved in and how have they impacted your experience?

At Touro Law Center, I serve as the President of the Cyber Law Society and Suffolk County Bar Association Student Committee. I’m proud to be an Honors Scholar, a Student Ambassador with the Office of Admissions, and the FlexTime Advisory Liaison on the Student Bar Association.

These roles have allowed me to give back to the Law Center in a way that has created a more inclusive, productive, and enriching learning environment for my peers. These opportunities have augmented my experience at the Law Center by affording me the chance to form everlasting relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.

What do you hope to achieve after you graduate?

After graduation and bar exam preparation, I am eager to use my skill set to make a difference. Whether that be continued public service or practicing privately in an area of interest, I look forward to putting my passion and commitment to excellence to work.

What advice would you give to your fellow law students?

Never allow someone to put you in a box. Work tirelessly in pursuit of your hopes, goals, and dreams despite those who may want to confine you to a predetermined future. With passion, perseverance, and a lot of hard work, you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to!

Why should other law students join NYSBA?

For more than 140 years, the New York State Bar Association has been New York’s premier networking organization for lawyers and future lawyers. Membership can only enhance one’s career and professional development with the tremendous opportunities offered. Whether it be attending educational events, becoming involved with specialized committees, or putting yourself out there as someone eager to assist with scholarly research and writing, the NYSBA is a proven tool to aid in the development of the law student community. I am a proud law student member of the New York State Bar Association and look forward to giving back for years to come.
