Remembering Frank Torres

T. Andrew Brown, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement about the death of retired State Supreme Court Justice Frank Torres:
“For decades, Justice Frank Torres was a true champion for justice and diversity, advocating for more Hispanic representation in law and on the bench. His pioneering efforts paved the way for Latinx attorneys to aspire to and become law firm partners and judges. Perhaps more than anyone, he understood that our system of justice works best when it truly represents the people it serves. At the heart of his legal career and jurisprudence was his deep commitment to justice for the common man. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
