T. Andrew Brown, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the following statement today:

“This is an extremely sad day for New York. But it is a hopeful step forward that the state will avoid a long, difficult, and expensive impeachment process that would have shifted attention from the many significant challenges we face. NYSBA offers its best wishes to Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul in her new and history-making role as the state’s future first woman executive. We stand ready to provide our expertise to the incoming administration as it assumes the important work of safeguarding and improving the lives of individuals in every corner of this great state.”
